It might seem impossible that a patient would undergo major surgery without anesthesia. But that's what you might think if you examine a typical sampling of patient bills from healthcare facilities. The situation would be funny if it didn't translate into such large amounts of lost revenue for specialists. Full Charge Capture

Dominion Medical's proprietary PRISM billing system checks and rechecks the hospital data to ensure that every piece of information for every procedure is received. In fact, we are frequently the first party to let hospitals know when their systems develop periodic problems.

Data Checking and Cleaning

We have developed interfaces between the proprietary PRISM billing system and hospital systems. Data is transferred through a secure FTP site and the file transfers are monitored to the byte for completeness using a proprietary data logging program. Once the data is received, a series of automated checks are made for missing data components to ensure complete charge capture. Inquiries are made by Dominion Medical back to the file sources as necessary to address data shortfalls, and changes to the process are sought to prevent recurrence. Demographic information is monitored for a pre-determined period after date of service for hospital updates or corrections. Procedures are typically coded and billed within 24 hours after receipt of clean charge, demographic and report data.

Paper Conversion

Dominion Medical can accommodate sites that currently produce data on paper (reports, demographics, etc.). In these situations, we work very closely with Clients to establish electronic interfaces, and/or convert paper documents to true electronic data elements for further processing.
