96% of All Claims

Dominion Medical Management files primary claims electronically to all government and most major third-party payors, representing about 96% of all claims filed. The IT security systems that Dominion Medical employs are similar to those used by financial institutions to secure data storage and transmittal. Paper claims are submitted in very few instances where payor volumes don't support an electronic solution.

Coverage Knowledge Center

Prior to submittal, claims are scrubbed and processed against payor edits using the Coverage Knowledge Center which is updated each week with government and health plan reimbursement modifications on a national, state and local basis. Every line item submitted for reimbursement is electronically checked to ensure the highest levels of reimbursement. For patients presenting as self-pay, inquiries are run automatically to check for insurance eligibility.

Claim Tracking

Claims are submitted daily and electronically in batch form. All file transfers are monitored to the byte for completeness using a proprietary data logging program. Payor electronic acceptance reports and electronic processing errors and totals reports are received wherever this functionality is supported by the payor. Claim status inquiries are run automatically. Every claim is assigned a unique identification number by our system and is tracked and documented at the patient charge reference level.
