Expert Coding Staff

Dominion Medical currently employs more than 25 Certified Professional Coders. Many are specialists in particular modalities and several coders have achieved additional RCC certification beyond the CPC level. In addition to ongoing monthly training, we also conduct periodic Coding Review Exams on all CPCs to confirm conformity to CPT, AMA, The Coding Clinic and Dominion Medical coding guidelines.  Health plans may change regularly but our coders work to the highest level of specificity to ensure complete capture of the physician's work.

Client-Specific Coding Programs

Dominion Medical works with new Clients to develop a highly-detailed Billing Policy & Procedures document which covers site and payor specific coding and billing guidelines as well as the group’s practices. Then we analyze the coding consistency and preferences and develop Client-specific coding and auditing programs to ensure that the group’s needs are met.

Client Coding Reviews

Our National Coding Manager conducts coding reviews for each Client twice a year.  Code changes and documentation requirements are reviewed. Feedback is provided on each clinician regarding ongoing documentation quality and performance relative to industry benchmarks.  In addition to these reviews, Dominion Medical has developed reporting on the variances between the ordered procedure and the final CPT as documented by the physician.  Through this enhanced reporting capability, Dominion Medical has uncovered significant additional revenue opportunities for member practices.
